Beware the Car Parking Scam!

I attended the hotel on 2nd April and was chosen on the basis it provided ample underground car parking. Unfortunately upon arrival, none of the ticket machines in the basement were working and I was advised by the staff that they hadn't been for some time, but I could pay via Ipad in reception which I duly did. A couple of weeks later, I received an email from ParkingEye who manage the car park on behalf of Ibis fining me £100 for non payment. I appealed the fine providing my booking and Credit Card Statement demonstrating that the payment had been taken and assumed it may have been an administrative error. Shortly after the Parking company advised my appeal had been rejected on the basis that whilst they now accepted I had paid for parking, the had reviewed the timing and I had paid for 15minutes less than when I actually exited. Had it not taken me 20minutes to check out of the hotel due to the number of people in reception and 2 flustered receptionists I would have been on my way long before! There is no grounds for further appeal as ParkingEye have "Chosen not to particpate in the Parking Ombudsman Scheme" so I am stuck with a fine I have no option but to pay. Unfortunately my stay was ruined by what feels like parking gangsterism, and will mean I no longer stay at Ibis having stayed previously, and have had them removed from our approved hotels list for business. This was on top of the heavy building work that was going on at the time (which I incidentally was not advised of) but was prepared to accept on the basis of neceesary upgrades. My advice - Stay clear....especially if you have a vehicle!

Modern and clean renovation but work still being done. Generally good service. Some lack of attention to how things work in practice in rooms eg sinks to shallow to easily fill kettle, bathroom glasses to short to hold toothbrushes and side tables decorative to go with decor but a bit too small for functionality with nothing to stop things falling off and no drawers.

Micky, the receptionist was excellent. Room was great, but the renovation made it too loud sometimes in the morning. Overall stay experienced was good.

I’m doing a complaint against ibis Earl’s Court I told them I was sick there wasn’t even bottled water or small snacks no room services no phone service for emergency and that’s dangerous I was I’ll and the morning they shouted to me OPEN THR DOOR after I clearly explained to them I was sick and extending! After the bad experience and nasty treatment I decided to check out form this point I’m asking for a FULL refund from the poor treatment and horrible communication when I stated to them many times the same thing and they refused to help or accommodate me while I’m sick. For that amount of money there should be at LEAST a bottle of water and room service for guest!! They are scamming guests badly! Plus dangerous construction and wires everywhere! Disgusting experience and never again! Construction going on and didn’t disclose before booking! Scam artist ! Don’t trust! Safety risk construction and wires everywhere. Dangerous. Don’t book!!!
