Booked through Secret Escapes for my wife's birthday. A very enjoyable stay including a treatment at the Spa, use of the pool and a really excellent meal in the Oak Restaurant. Staff were very welcoming and helpful, particularly Cheryl and Morgan on reception and the excellent Maitre D, Kelvin in the restaurant. Minor complaint about the hard pillows and the lack of EV chargers but these didnt detract from a lovely stay.

We thought the location and room were excellent but having stayed at 2 other Mercure Hotels in the area recently we thought the Food Choices in the Restaurant and Bar were very poor

Accommodation and food were good although the same menu every night was not appreciated thank goodness we were able to use the bar menu for a change. At breakfast we were impressed by the helpful and hard working young man Jardel. We also liked Morgan the charming young man on reception.

The room was amazing but the food was disappointing. The evening meal options were very limited so had to order food that you know you were not going to enjoy. All the hot food in the morning at breakfast was warm at best and as it had obviously been out for a while had dried out. Also, the billing was confusing, when we checked-in, the receptionist insisted we paid a further £50 deposit which on top of the £50 already allocated through Secret Escapes. We were informed that if we spent more than the £50 already allocated the additional fees owed would be taken from this, but, on check-out I was forced to pay a further £20 as the total bill was £70 and the extra was not taken from the additional £50 paid at check-in. So why was I forced to pay the additional £50 on check-in when I was then forced to pay the additional money owed when we checked out!
